Project 50/30 is back!

When we left Project 50/30 in May, it was being dropped off at the paint shop. After a few months of work, it has returned to CJ Pony Parts looking amazing!

When we dropped it off at GCR Auto Collisions, Inc., we had anticipated it to come back in the Triple Yellow that's now available on the 2015 Mustang. However, in a few paint outs and tests that we did with GCR, it was looking good, but not great, so we went with the Deep Impact Blue instead, which was always the backup plan. Boy, were we glad we did. Project 50/30 turned out incredible.

Once it arrived back in the shop, we had to see the nearly finished exterior look, with the air ride suspension fully functional and our new Niche wheels. These Niche wheels were completely custom designed for Project 50/30. They're 18"x8" in the front and 20"x11" in the rear and each feature a three piece Forge design. Combined with a custom paint job and the Ridetech air ride suspension, we couldn't be more pleased with the look so far.

Shortly after it returned from paint and we got the Niche wheels installed, our friend Waylon from TMI Interiors stopped by for a visit. We'd been planning all along to use TMI for much of the interior on Project 50/30. However, not only is he helping us out with everything from headliner to carpet, he's hooking us up with some custom products that you're only going to see at SEMA. That had us very excited, but what Waylon said next was an even bigger surprise. Watch the video to find out what that was...

Now that Project 50/30 has a home at SEMA, we're hitting the home stretch with our build and we've got a lot to get finished before the show. Starting under the hood, we have the Ford Racing 412 horsepower 5.0L Coyote V8 already installed and we've added a Vortech Supercharger to the mix to give us over 600 horsepower. We've also started to finish off some details in the interior with new tinted glass windows, which looks perfect with the black hood, trunk and roof, and the wiring, with Painless Performance's Complete Wiring Harness for 1965-1966 fastbacks, which gives us plenty of modern circuitry for all of Project 50/30's technology.

We'll be working hard to finish the build over the next few months leading up to SEMA, and we'll sharing some of the installations with you - keep checking our YouTube channel for the latest updates. However, we're working with a number of our vendors on parts for Project 50/30 that will be all-new products, and we don't want to let the cat out of the bag on those parts until SEMA arrives. Stang looks great everyone did a great job. Currently restoring a 66 stang coupe myself in Texas. Can wait to see what you have in store. I will send pics of my Sic Six when completed and after I find some more helpers. Lol.

Wow! Car looks great. Great paint choice. Cant wait to see the wiring video. Thinking about doing a complete wiring kit for my 65 coupe... Every owner has spliced and diced it up over the last 50 years. Keep the vidoes coming. Couldn't restore Duke with out CJ's. Greetings from San Diego!
