NHTSA closes the case on Mustang manual transmission problems

It’s “case closed” on the NHTSA investigation of the 2011-2012 Mustang’s Getrag MT-82 6-speed manual transmission’s reported shifting problems. This case was initially opened in August and was related to issues of grinding and rough shifting with that specific manual transmission. As we reported in early August, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has opened an investigation on problems with the MT82 manual transmission that is in 26,000 2011-2012 Mustangs.
