After our big announcement on Monday, it’s only fitting that this week’s video of the week showcases our upcoming Gotta Have Builds! The cars in the video are only mockups and are one of many possibilities of what Gotta Have It Race and Gotta Have It Street might end up looking like.

Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of design tools out there yet for the 2013 Mustangs, so we had to base our mockups on the 2010 GT500 model. They aren’t exactly the same, but are definitely very close! In fact, to make these designs and this awesome video happen, we found out that the video game Forza 4 was an easy tool to use. One of our designers spent many hours on Forza 4 to create these possible designs for our Gotta Have Builds cars and today’s video.

Are you already a Forza 4 gamer on the Xbox 360? Starting today, you can download either of these two in-game designs for FREE! Just go to the Storefront in Forza 4, then Buy Designs (don’t worry, it’s still free) and search for the Manual Keyword “Gotta Have Builds”.

So, take a look and let us know your thoughts on these possible designs.

Enjoy your weekend!

With the excitement surrounding our upcoming 2013 Mustang purchases, we haven’t really thought much about the 2015 Mustangs in the last few weeks. However, Popular Hot Rodding released several new artist renderings of what the 2015 Mustang might look like, so we thought we’d share them and seek your input:

Looking at the renderings, the design is definitely radically different. Gone are most of the retro styling cues. They’re replaced with a very futuristic sports car that only retains a few design cues from the current model, particularly in the rear with similar style taillights. What you can’t see from the drawings is that the car is still predicted to be a world car, with input from Ford designers worldwide, and smaller and lighter than before. It’ll also have an independent rear suspension, replacing the solid rear axle, and an EcoBoost four cylinder.

After looking at the latest renderings, what do you think? Do you like this possible look for the 2015 Mustang?

If you do, you probably remember seeing this last week on all of our feeds:

It caused a bit of a commotion. It left many of our customers quite curious and we received more than a few questions as to what we were up to.

We kept promising something very cool.

And now it’s time to unveil the first part of “Gotta Have Builds.”

We just ordered two brand-new 2013 Mustangs!

With this week’s video of the week, we’d like to feature one of our more popular vendors, TMI. This week’s video allows you to take a look inside their facility in Corona, California, and follow the production process from beginning to end, from the design process for a new piece of upholstery, all the through production until the product is shipped.

TMI offers a wide range of Mustang products, including upholstery, headrests, door panels, sun visors, headliners and much more. Their Mustang product line has been rapidly expanding at CJ’s over the last year, so we wanted to give our customers a view inside their facility and see how well made each of the TMI products is.

Enjoy this video, then head over and take a look at the TMI products offered at CJ’s! Keep an eye peeled, too–more from TMI will be coming to CJ’s soon!

Early on in the Mustang’s life, there were many rumors of a super-secret project to design a Mustang station wagon. A prototype was even created and was documented in many photos and magazine articles. While no one is sure if that specific station wagon is still in existence, several other talented individuals have created their own Mustang station wagon. Now, today, a 1965 Ford Mustang station wagon is up for sale. It’s one of the most unique Mustang’s you will ever see.

The designer, Joe Kamp, used a well maintained original 1965 Mustang coupe as a base. He cut, lengthened, slightly widened the original roof and installed it utilizing the original C-pillars in the back of the car. Then he fashioned a tailgate and rear window area using portions of the hardtop and deck lid. The rest of the car was trimmed with original or period moldings. The design was intended to retain the car’s sporty image, so there’s a slight slope to the roof, along with the retention of the rear quarter windows. The signature Mustang taillights are also part of the design, along with gold Shelby stripes. The finish work was outstanding as well.

Instead of utilizing the 1965′s 289 engine, Kamp dropped in a 5.0 V-8, which is essentially the same size, but offers a lot more power, adaptability and a massive aftermarket parts industry. While it might look OEM, the inclusion of the Ford EEC-IV engine management system, including mass-air induction system, and a more modern T5 5 Speed Manual transmission and Hurst shifter, gives the car a late model feel despite its 1965 look. The rest of the car has been modified to handle the increased power and weight of the engine and allows the car to be a comfortable highway cruiser.

The interior, too, is unique. It sports a bench style front seat, perfect for a wagon, and a custom center console, all trimmed in brown vinyl. The backseat is the one standard to a 1965 coupe. Air conditioning has been added, and, while the original AM radio still hangs on, an AM/FM/CD stereo was added in the custom console.

So, do you want this one-of-a-kind Mustang station wagon? It’s for sale. For only $54,900, you can own it!

After two years of hard work, CJ Pony Service has completed a very involved restoration project on a rough looking 1963 Ford Falcon. The car came to CJ Pony Service during a blizzard on New Year’s Eve 2009 and spent two years getting rebuilt from top to bottom.

This Falcon had been in the owner’s family for several generations, being originally purchased by the owner’s grandmother and passed down from there. When CJ Pony Service got the car, it needed some help! The three pictures below detail how bad of shape the car was in when it was assessed in early 2010.

Many, many parts had to be completely replaced, including the entire floor, the rockers, and torque boxes, many of which were fabricated by CJ Pony Service. After an exhaustive search, the missing fender was replaced with an original, while the quarter panels were also completely replaced. The picture below shows the new floor (before painting).

After all of the body was cleaned up, the car was completely refinished and repainted in the original glacier blue paint. The 1963 Falcon was just delivered to the customer today, which, coincidentally, was also her grandmother’s birthday. It’s pretty cool for the owner, and another project that CJ Pony Service can really be proud of! Take another look at the final project.

This week, we share with you the video of a 1968 Mustang’s death down under. This classic Mustang was outfitted for Touring Car racing and met it’s demise in the 2011 Bathurst Touring Car Masters in Australia.

A slight bump from a competitor’s Charger sent this piece of Mustang history straight into the wall. The driver, a regular Touring Car Masters competitor named Andrew Whiteside, didn’t even have a chance to tap the brakes before he bounced off the wall. He was fine after the collision, though. As both the video and the picture show, the collision was pretty hard and caused a lot of damage, compressing the driver’s side fender, hood and bumper all the way back to the firewall.

The crash itself was rather spectacular, and the video depicts it from multiple angles with colorful commentary by the announcers. Take a moment on this Friday afternoon, enjoy, and mourn the ’68 Mustang’s passing.

Have a great weekend!
