While Dana certainly had hopes of winning the contest, we’re sure even he was a bit shocked to learn what exactly he had won! First, Ford Racing flew Dana and his wife from their home in Florida and set them up at the renowned Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. However, the real fun began when they received their free passes into the SEMA event, located at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Perhaps the most exciting part of Dana’s story is that he was given the chance to ride along with racing legend Vaughn Gittin Jr. during a drifting demo at SEMA 2013! We weren't sure exactly what was going through Dana’s mind as he rode shotgun for some serious drifting action, but we can’t deny it looked like an unbeatable experience.
At SEMA, Dana enjoyed browsing the countless tricked out cars and Mustangs that were showcased at the event. He was also happy to stop by some of the vendor booths, including a few brands he’s utilized for projects on his own Mustang.
Dana was specifically happy about meeting representatives from TMI, MSD, and Aeromotive at SEMA, and he might have been able to line up some parts and assistance for future upgrades to his ’66 Mustang.
If you’re thinking you’ve actually seen Dana’s ’66 fastback before, it’s because you have! His Mustang actually won 1st place for Early Models at this summer’s Customer Appreciation Day (CAD) at CJ Pony Parts! It also looks like we might not be done seeing Dana’s prized Mustang, as talks appear to be in the works from some future promotional opportunities.
We hope you join us in congratulating Dana on his “Road to SEMA” win, and we hope to see much more of his 1966 Mustang… including at next year’s CAD.
