Beyond basic bolt-on modifications, it can be a challenge to extract additional power from modern, computer controlled Mustangs. With this tuner, CJ Pony Parts and SCT give you another option.
For a 1996-2013 Mustang, SCT’s X3 Tuner is going to be exactly what you want for an easy power boost. For a stock Mustang GT from those years, one of CJ’s custom tunes can provide an additional 30 horsepower. For V6s, modified vehicles, or supercharged vehicles, that number will be even higher!
When you order your SCT tuner, we’ll need some information from you. First, you will need to find the computer code on your Mustang. For all 1996-2004 Mustangs, that code is under the passenger’s side kick panel or, possibly, on the door. For 2005 and newer Mustangs, it’s under the hood, on the passenger’s side of the engine compartment. We will also need to know about your Mustang. We need to know the year, engine, transmission, wheels and gear ratio, plus any modifications you have made. Also, make sure to tell us what grade of fuel you’ll be running in your Mustang after the tune.
After that, the hard part is done. CJ Pony Parts will prepare your custom tune, load it on your tuner, and ship it all to you. To get the tune into your Mustang, just plug the SCT X3 Tuner into your car’s OBDII port, under the dash. That will activate the tuner. From there, just follow the on-screen prompts to load the tune onto your Mustang.
Bill’s video gives you all of the details on where to find the computer code and the OBDII port on the different 1996-2013 Mustang models, plus walks you through the step-by-step instructions to uploading the tune into your Mustang. Watch the video and, if you have a 1996-2013 Mustang that desperately needs a boost, get a SCT X3 Tuner soon!
