Gotta Have It Race and Bill Tumas are featured in the December issue of Race Pages!

Congratulations to our own Bill Tumas, who, with Gotta Have It Race, is featured as the cover article in the December 2012 issue of Race Pages!

Race Pages is the official magazine of the NMRA Keystone Automotive Ford Nationals series, which is the series that the entire Gotta Have Builds team ran in this summer. Bill and Gotta Have It Race just missed out on a top 10 finish this season, but Bill ended up learning a whole lot about our new 2013 Mustang GT.

The article explores Bill’s long history as a racer, which goes all the way back to the late 1980s, with many twists and turns along the way. Since his first car–a 1974 VW Beetle–he’s owned more than a few race cars, including five Mustangs. Since he started with CJ Pony Parts in 2005, Bill has been the primary racer on the last two CJ Pony Parts project cars–Project B.O.B. and, of course, Gotta Have It Race!

The Race Pages article also dedicates some space to showing off Gotta Have It Race and profiling how far it has come since we picked it up in May. Do you believe that Bill’s first pass, in pure stock form, was only 13.2 seconds at 107 MPH? With a few modifications, and a lot of learning about how the car handles, he’s taken Gotta Have It Race a long way since then, and has improved at every NMRA stop along the way.
