Get your bid ready! A one-of-a-kind 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Super Cobra Jet is hitting the auction block!

Vicari Auction Company is hosting their 16th annual Biloxi Auction on October 12 & 13 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center in Biloxi, Mississippi, with over 400 cars up for bid, including several classic Mustangs and this 1-of-1 Mach 1 Super Cobra Jet!

To give you an idea of how rare this Mutang is, consider that, in 1970, only 857 Mustangs were produced with the Mach 1 trim, the 428 Super Cobra Jet engine, and a Drag Pack. Only 50 of those 857 ended up in Bright Gold Metallic. Of those, this is only one of two that had a 4.30 Drag Pack rear end. This Mustang, however, was the only one produced that had power front disc brakes (which were rare themselves at that time), plus all the other options, making it truly one-of-a-kind and quite valuable to the right collector.

Here’s a few of the other specs on this Mustang:

  • Competition suspension
  • Color-keyed racing mirrors
  • Console-mounted shift lever
  • Rim blow-deluxe steering wheel
  • Instrument gauges
  • Rocker panel moldings
  • Rear deck lid tape stripe
  • Deep dish sports wheel covers
  • Color-keyed carpeting

It only has 26,361 miles on it and, as you can see in the photos, it has certainly been well cared for during it’s 40+ years of life. According to Pete Vicari, president of Vicari Auction, “This muscle car is a Mustang collector’s dream come true, as it’s not only very rare, but it has been maintained in museum-like quality.”

Quite a few other classic Mustangs will be up for bids as well at the auction, which is part of the 16th annual Cruisin’ the Coast event in Biloxi, MS, which runs from October 7-14. Check out any of the other cars up for bids!

    I would love to have my old white on white 70 Mach 1 428 SCJ from back in the day. but thanks to some crooked body shop in 1981, it no longer exists. I’ve been hurting ever since….
