Son gifts ’73 Mustang coupe to his dad on Christmas

Back in the 1970s, Andrew Welch’s dad sold his beloved ’73 Mustang coupe to get a car that was more family oriented shortly after the birth of his son. While his dad never regretted making the decision to sell the car to help his family, he still missed the ’73 coupe and talked about it regularly.

Fast forward more than 35 years, his son, Andrew, went looking for a similar ’73 coupe to give to his dad for Christmas. He found nearly the same car as his dad’s old ’73 in South Carolina. Last week, Andrew flew down to South Carolina to pick up the car and drive it back home to Massachusetts. He stopped at CJ’s on the way to have our CJ Pony Service team give the car a once over and fix the radio antenna. We couldn’t resist snapping a few pictures of Andrew and the beautiful ’73 Ford Mustang coupe while they were at CJ’s:

After the stop at CJ’s, Andrew continued north to Massachusetts and presented the car to his dad. The picture below (and the one in the header) are from the night Andrew gave his dad his new ’73 Mustang coupe!

    I just found a mustang 2 cobra. black with gold stripes. 1500. its been in a barn for 15 years. it comes with the 302 and 289
