Dynacorn launches 1964.5-1966 Mustang Convertible body shells at SEMA!

After the success of their body shells for 1967, 1968, 1969 and 1970 Mustang fastbacks, Dynacorn has partnered with Ford to launch the 1964.5-1966 convertible body shell at SEMA this week! This body shell is Ford approved and officially licensed and will help restorers and owners get their dream Mustang out on the road MUCH more easily!

“The 1964-66 Mustang is the most restored vintage vehicle. But the number of original 1964-66 vintage bodies is shrinking every year,” said Dennis Mondrach, Ford Restoration Parts licensing manager. “Most of the original Mustangs left in scrapyards are rusted or wrecked beyond repair. The new body shell is made of virgin metal and uses modern welding techniques. It comes rustproofed, and after final adjustment and finish preparation of the body panels, it is ready for painting and final assembly.”

To fully restore your 1964.5-1966 Mustang convertible, some parts can be transferred and reused in the new shell, while CJ Pony Parts offers many powertrain, suspension, brakes, and electrical parts that can fully outfit the new shell and transform it into a beautiful, complete Mustang convertible that is even tougher than the original.

“We use a modern universal automotive-grade steel that is actually stronger than the original, and modern welding techniques along with more welds to strengthen the body,” said Jim Christina, vice president of Dynacorn International.

This part will be coming to CJ’s as soon as Dynacorn makes it available to us. We’ll let you know as soon as it is available! Meanwhile, if you’re attending the SEMA show this week, check it out. It will be on display next to a fully restored 1965 convertible that demonstrates the high quality of the assembly.

15K dollars for a shell and it’s made in Taiwan. I think I’ll just hold on to the old Fox Body.

I love the 71-73. Original Eleanor is the best.

I saw this from Ford Media. I couldn’t find any info on how to title one of these bodies. The conv bodies are mostly rust piles, this could help get more cars on the road again. I have a coupe and a fastback, this may be a way to fill my corral…….. :o )
