Be part of the “Coyote Countdown!”

CJ Pony Parts would like to invite all of our customers to take part in the upcoming “Coyote Countdown” at the 2011 Carlisle Ford Nationals in June for the opportunity to win $1,500 in Ford Racing Performance Parts! The contest will follow Kurgan Motorsports as they swap out the engine in a partially restored 1993 Fox body Mustang coupe. Many of the parts for the Mustang restoration were donated by CJ Pony Parts and vendors such as Scott Drake, TMI Products, SSBC Brakes and Auto Custom Carpets, but the star of the show will be a brand-new, Ford Racing “Coyote” 5.0-liter V8 crate engine. Here’s how you can get involved:

Visit http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/events/ford-nationals/giveaway2.asp and submit your entry for how long it will take the Kurgan Motorsports team to complete this engine swap. All entries are submitted in hours and minutes and must be submitted by June 1 at 5 p.m. The winner of the $1,500 in parts is the entry who is the closest to the time it takes to complete the swap, without going over. Any ties will be settled by determining who submitted their entry first, with the earliest entry winning. Keep in mind when you’re making your guess that the clock will stop multiple times, as the team will only be working during normal working hours, and will be allowed to take breaks.

The engine swap & contest will be taking place in Building T on the Carlisle Fairgrounds, and a representative from CJ Pony Parts will be on-hand to answer questions about the parts we used in the restoration. After the engine has been swapped out, the Kurgan Motorsports team will drive their completed project to the Carlisle Burnout Pit, where they will test out the new motor and see how it handles in their restored Fox Body car.

Meanwhile, before the Carlisle Ford Nationals in early June, Kurgan Motorsports is hard at work restoring their 1993 Mustang to get it ready for the engine swap. The Kurgan Motorsports team is posting updated photos on the Carlisle Ford Nationals Facebook page. Some of them are shared here, though keep checking Facebook to get the latest.
