CJ Pony Parts Rally Appalachia 2011: Great Fun for a Great Cause!

CJ Pony Parts Rally Appalachia 2011: Great Fun for a Great Cause!

Posted on 03. Dec, 2010 by in News, Racing, Videos

After the success of the CJ Pony Parts Route 66 Rally, we here at CJ Pony Parts have decided to head sponsor Rally North America’s next big east coast event, Rally Appalachia 2011! Mark your calendars and prep your ride, because come July 2011, RNA will be hosting an event that you won’t want to miss. Great sights, great fun, great people and, as always, for a GREAT CAUSE!

Starting July 18th, 2011 and running through July 21st, Rally Appalachia 2011 takes its participants on a scenic and fun ride through the wonderful Appalachian Mountains, starting in Winchester, Virginia. From there, the rally is underway through the famous Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway, ending at the Marriott in Charleston, South Carolina on the 21st. Planned highlights during the rally include a trip to Darlington Raceway for a few laps on the track, “Too Tough to Tame”, laps at Shenandoah Speedway “Where the Mountain ROARS”, police escorted parades through the cities of Lexington, VA and Spartanburg, SC, and a meet and greet with NASCAR Legend David Pearson. Many more surprises and great times will be had during Rally Appalachia 2011, but you will have to be there to check it all out!

UPDATE: Our two winners have been chosen! Congratulations to Shane M. from Texas and Ryan W. from Maryland! Shane will be driving his 2010 Mustang GT and Ryan will be driving a 1991 5.0 Fox Body. Have fun, guys!

Update: All standard registration spots have been filled for Rally Appalachia 2011. We are still taking entries for our giveaway, so make sure to leave a comment to enter! RNA is taking registration for 20 “stand-by” spots, in the event that a team has to drop out before the Rally begins in July, 2011. If you want to register for one of the “stand-by” spots, you can register here. These spots are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Rally North American defines themselves as, “a group of automotive enthusiasts that enjoy attending and discussing TSD (time, speed & distance) Rallies that are NON-profit and Charity based and just about anything automotive related.” With this mindset, RNA has put together a great event for next July that promises to be a great time for everyone involved while raising money for a great cause, the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund was established officially as an independent not-for-profit organization in 2003. Through 2005, the Fund provided close to $20 million to families of United States military personnel lost in performance of their duty, mostly in service in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2005 federal legislation substantially increased the benefits granted to these families. With the needs of these families now being supported much more substantially, the Fund turned to the next area of the military community needing help: our wounded warriors.

In January 2007 the Fund completed construction of the Center for the Intrepid, a $55 million world-class state-of-the-art physical rehabilitation center at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. This Center serves military personnel who have been catastrophically disabled in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and veterans severely injured in other operations and in the normal performance of their duty. The 60,000 square foot Center provides ample space and facilities for the rehabilitation needs of the patients and their caregivers.

I’m already registered for the rally. Didn’t know if I could still sign up for the drawing to try to win the $200 gift card?

It would be awesome if the $175 would be added to the card or something also (since it has already been paid), but that doesn’t look possible due to the “no substitution” rule. Even if completely not possible for me, donate the $175 entry fee to another winner, so all they would have to do is pay for food and gas. Either way, Thank you very much!!

My husband is currently helping a friend rebuild a 1970 Mach 1. We restored a 1966 Mustang, but sold it many years ago. We currently have a 2006 Mustang GT convertible. My husband was in a bad car accident in October 2008 and had to retire. Money’s tight, so free registration and $200 gift card would certainly help out. Thank you for your consideration.

My 1964 Mustang Convertible would like to take the Blue Ridge ride. She made it home from the World’s Fair in NY but likes slow twisty cruises with the 260 that gets 23 mpg. She is almost 50 now and can’t handle the racing excitement. She would donate that portion to one of her racer friends! See you all at the 50th in Michigan!

What a great time and a great cause! We would love to be a part of this event. Last year we purchased a ’09 GT Anniversary Edtion Mustang and this past summer my husband got the 1966 coupe in running order. Its getting paint at this time, but would be completed by the rally.
As we have never been involved in a rally, we would love the chance to play. CJ Pony Parts THE place where we bought all of the parts for the ’66, and a few upgrades for the ’09. Thanks pick US!!

    Thanks!

My 98 Mustang Coupe came into my life last month after
years of appreciation from afar. The1971 Mach 1 has held a special
place in my heart. My eco-commuter was totaled on the freeway
& I was totally strapped for funds and a ride and there she
was exquisitely maintained for $5000. It was an answer to prayer
and the beginning of a beautiful relationship. I am so excited to
simply be in the drivers seat each day and now, shopping for
stylish nuances for her on my “wish list” until the funds roll in.
I am thrilled by the camaraderie of Mustang owners/lovers that I
have met so far. What a treat, all around to even be allowed into
this special group of individuals. The hook has been set for good,
    and it is good!
